A homeowner in Shelton, CT, required tree removal service for a massive red oak in their yard. After searching “Tree removal near me,” they knew Arbor Green Tree Service could provide the level of service they needed. Despite significant challenges, the company completed the work in a way that exceeded the client’s expectations.
Project Overview: Removing a Red Oak in Shelton, CT
- Client profile: Residential homeowner
- Location: Shelton, CT
- Type of service: Tree removal
- Tree type: Red oak
- Tree size: 64 inches in diameter at breast height
- Equipment used: Climbing gear and harnesses, crew PPE, Alturna ground protection mats, Morbark 21” chipper, 25-yard chip truck, Vermeer CTX 160 mini skid steer
- Season: Spring
- Specific challenges: The property layout provided no safe access for our large cranes to park and remove this massive red oak tree so the crew got their hands dirty and removed this tree the traditional way. They created a “ground protection mat highway” through the neighbor’s yard into the customers, which allowed for the safe transport of equipment, crew, and debris while mitigating the risk of property damage.
- Client preferences: The customer wanted us to take extra care in using the neighbor’s yard and accepted the removal would cause minor damage to the customer’s property, but Arbor Green completed the job with no damage to either property and the customer felt thrilled that we “exceeded his expectations” of such a large tree removal. He requested that we leave some of the tree’s pieces behind to use as firewood which we are always happy to do for customers!
